Upgrade your Furnace Filter
A cheap way to get clean air inside your condo:
Much attention is paid to the harmful effects of smog and other outdoor air pollutants, but the air we breathe inside our homes and workplaces can contain any number of airborne particles and pollutants. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that indoor air can be up to five times more polluted than the air we breathe outside. The proper filter for your furnace will maximize the particles removed from the air and minimize the loss of efficiency. You have two options for your furnace filter- the super cheap kind that is most common in many Philly condos, or you can actually pay more than
a dollar for a really nice upgraded furnace filter that is going to do a good job at keeping your air clean. You might be surprised with the improved air quality that lingers in your condo with such an upgrade. Step one- Go to your exisiting furnace filter, and look at the numbers on the side. Should say something like 24″ x 12″ x 1″. This is the size of your filter. Make sure you replace it with the same size.
